About the Journal

The Sudan Journal of Health Sciences (SJHS) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal (ISSN 2948-3026) published by Alfajr College for Science and Technology, Khartoum, Sudan. It is dedicated to advancing health sciences through the dissemination of high-quality research.

Aims and Scope

SJHS aims to support evidence-based practice and policy in Sudan and the wider region by publishing rigorous, ethically sound research. Topics include clinical medicine, public and community health, nursing, dentistry, laboratory and basic sciences, health professions education, and health systems and management.

The journal welcomes original articles, case reports, review articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, in English or Arabic. A structured abstract and keywords are required in both languages regardless of the manuscript language.

Peer Review

All research articles undergo editorial screening followed by double-blind peer review with at least two subject-matter specialists. See the Peer Review Process for full details.

Publication Frequency

SJHS publishes three issues per year: January–April, May–August, and September–December.

Open Access and Fees

All content is freely available immediately on publication under a CC BY 4.0 licence, and authors retain copyright. There are no submission or publication fees of any kind.

Licence and Registration

The Sudan Journal of Health Sciences is licensed by the National Council for Press and Journalistic Publications (dated 13 October 2021). The print ISSN 2948-3026 was assigned by the ISSN International Centre on 20 February 2023; the record is available at the ISSN Portal. The journal registers DOIs with Crossref under the prefix 10.69993.
